The leading dairy company in Greece, Dodoni, has announced their top of the range Feta PDO and Halloumi PDO is now available at Ocado.
Dodoni Feta and Dodoni Halloumi are both Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) products, which means the production follows strict rules to ensure the authenticity and quality of the cheese, centred on time-honoured methods.
Working with local farms since 1963, Dodoni Feta is made using milk from artisan farmers in the Epirus region of Greece which arrives every day to Dodoni premises in Ioannina, even from the most distant and isolated parts of the region.
The community of more than 5,000 producers from over 500 villages across the lush hills of Epirus are what make Dodoni products so authentic and a step above the imitation salad cheeses you find on the shelf.
Crafted exclusively in Limassol, Cyprus, Dodoni Halloumi is produced by combining traditional Cypriot cheese-making methods with the know-how and experience of Dodoni resulting in Halloumi which is known for its distinctive flavour and authentic roots.
Dodoni Feta and Dodoni Halloumi now sit alongside Dodoni’s range of Cheese Thins – baked cheese snacks made from Dodoni’s real Greek Feta PDO or Cypriot Halloumi PDO and the finest all natural ingredients.
The premium savoury snacks come in four flavours inspired by the Mediterranean including Feta, Tomato & Oregano, Feta & Jalapeno, Halloumi & Caramelised Onion and Halloumi Multiseed.
Dodoni’s Feta and Halloumi has been available in Marks & Spencer’s stores across the UK since 2021, as well as independent retailers, delis and farm shops.
Tom Seepers, a group CEO of DODONI commented, “For 60 years Dodoni has been a staple in homes across Greece & Cyprus, and now UK shoppers are able to experience the unique and authentic flavours thanks to the highest-quality milk combined with the knowledge, passion and skill of our cheesemakers. Marrying tradition with the best in time-honoured cheese-craft has seen our Feta and Halloumi credited with PDO and we proudly continue to make all our products with the same passion for taste, respect and tradition.”
According to the latest research, nearly two-thirds (61%) of UK consumers feel sustainability is more important to them in recent years, but 20% of shoppers find it difficult to find sustainably produced products on shelves in supermarkets.*
Dodoni’s sustainability rating places the company amongst the top 1% of its peers in the global dairy sector, in particular excelling as a result of its sustainable farmer and animal welfare policies.
Dodoni was awarded gold in 2023 from EcoVadis, winning an award for the third year running. EcoVadis is one of the most trusted and highly regarded companies providing evaluation and rating services for sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
Dodoni Feta is available at Ocado in 200g vacuum packs, RRP £3.00 and Dodoni Halloumi is available at Ocado in 250g vacuum packs RRP £3.90. Dodoni products are also available at M&S stores nationwide, delis and independent shops across the UK.
