Kent-based micro-brewery Mad Cat has teamed up with the Rosa’s Thai chain of restaurants to create and brew a bespoke IPA.
Mad Cat Brewery from Faversham has a reputation for using Kentish hops to produce novel beers that are packed with flavour and personality. Usually it sells its own brands to the retail and hospitality trade, but it has now partnered with restaurant chain Rosa’s Thai to brew its own-label IPA.
Peter Meaney, owner at Mad Cat Brewery, says: “We had already been developing a delicious, new, lemongrass flavoured beer at the brewery, so when we were approached by Rosa’s Thai we sent them samples to see what they thought. They loved it. It was a match made in heaven and a perfect beer to accompany their spicy and aromatic Thai cuisine.”
Mad Cat Brewery produces a range of artisan craft beers including lagers, bitters, pale ales and stouts which are available in different formats including bottled beers, minikegs and casks. With its broad variety of beers and experience of working with Rosa’s Thai, the brewery feels it is in a good position to work with other businesses in the hospitality sector, wishing to develop their own-brand beers.
Mr Meaney continues: “As a small business we could be very flexible and react quickly to Rosa’s Thai’s needs. This enabled us to work closely with the restaurant team on areas such as branding and fulfilment to ensure the beer was ready to sell exclusively throughout their 20 restaurants when they needed it. It’s a pleasure to work with Rosa’s Thai and we hope to continue the partnership as they pursue their exciting plans for the future.”
