Family-owned business, Ian Macleod Distillers, is celebrating a double win after two of its distilleries have topped the list of the ‘Best Distilleries in Scotland’, as voted for by TripAdvisor users.
The recently acquired Edinburgh Gin Distillery was voted number one distillery attraction in Scotland, closely followed by picture-postcard, Glengoyne Distillery, based just outside of Glasgow.
TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel planning and booking site, has also awarded both distilleries a Certificate of Excellence for consistently achieving outstanding traveller reviews from around the world, which only ten per cent of businesses receive.

Ian Macleod Distillers purchased Spencerfield Spirits including its flagship brand, Edinburgh Gin in September 2016 after a long-term distribution agreement, strengthening their spirits portfolio to reflect consumer demand.

Both distilleries offer a range of tours from Gin Making Experiences and the Gin Connoisseur Tour at the Edinburgh Gin Distillery to Glengoyne’s Whisky and Chocolate Tour and No 1 Warehouse Tour, where you draw samples from bourbon barrels and first fill sherry casks to create your own signature Glengoyne bottling.
