It’s brewed with tonnes of coffee and chocolate, and is cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for 12 months to pull through those bourbon undertones, namely vanilla, right to the finish. It’s a must-stock stout and it’s an essential to carry over the Easter period as something to tempt chocolate and beer lovers alike. The Founders brewery itself boasts further about the beer, extolling the 12-month aging in Kentucky bourbon barrels in gypsum mines 85 feet underground at a temperature of 38-40 degrees Fahrenheit (that’s 3-4 degrees Celsius for UK trade customers!).
