Fairfields Farm Crisps is set to turn up the heat this summer with the launch of a new limited‑edition Cajun Barbecue flavour. Landing in June 2026, the release brings a bold, smoky taste profile to the brand’s award‑winning handcooked crisp range and marks a milestone for the Essex‑based producer with the introduction of its first ever ridge‑cut crisp, designed to deliver maximum crunch and flavour.
Inspired by classic barbecue cooking, the Cajun Barbecue recipe combines deep, smoky savoury notes with a subtle sweetness and a warming Cajun spice kick. Flavours of paprika, garlic, onion and black pepper are layered with a tangy tomato barbecue twist, finishing with a gentle peppery heat. The new ridge‑cut texture allows each crisp to hold more seasoning, enhancing both taste and crunch. Like the rest of the Fairfields Farm range, the crisps are vegan‑friendly and gluten‑free.
Perfect for sunny afternoons, the new flavour is designed for sharing and pairs well with an ice‑cold drink and a dip on the side. It is ideally suited to summer occasions such as match‑day gatherings, relaxed picnics and barbecue get‑togethers.
The flavour was chosen with the help of Fairfields Farm’s Secret Crisp Committee, a panel of crisp lovers recruited from across the UK earlier this year. Successful applicants were sent a selection of unreleased flavours to taste at home and asked to share feedback before casting their final vote. After careful consideration, the smoky barbecue‑inspired recipe emerged as the clear favourite, with early comments praising its strong flavour, smoky tomato warmth and excellent crunch and texture.
Fairfields Farm’s distinctive farm‑to‑bag approach remains central to the brand. As one of only a handful of UK crisp producers with its factory located directly on the farm, the company grows its own potatoes before cooking, seasoning and packing the crisps all on site. This hands‑on process allows full oversight at every stage of production, ensuring consistent quality from field to final pack.
Co‑founders Robert and Laura Strathern said the new flavour is all about bold, layered taste, combining smoky barbecue richness with a warming Cajun spice blend. They added that launching it as the brand’s first ridge‑cut crisp makes it particularly exciting, as the deeper cut holds more flavour and delivers an even bigger crunch, and said they are looking forward to hearing what customers think.
The limited‑edition Cajun Barbecue flavour will be available in 150g sharing packs from June through wholesalers, selected retailers and the Fairfields Farm website. As a seasonal release, it will be available for a limited time while stocks last.
