Planning permission has been granted for the development of a new production facility (creamery) for Hampshire Cheese Company. The creamery will be located adjacent to Newlyns Farm Shop, which is home to one of the largest dedicated cheese rooms in the south of England.
The new premises will enable Hampshire Cheese Company to significantly expand production to meet demand for its award-winning Tunworth and Winslade cheeses. Capturing the public zeitgeist to understand food production, the design of the creamery incorporates viewing windows, enabling the public to share the magic of the cheese making process.
Founder, Stacey Hedges, said: “I am really proud of the consistent quality of our Tunworth and Winslade cheeses. With our new premises, we have an opportunity to continue making the best possible cheeses, build our brand and increase our range of products.”

There is an increasing appetite for food lovers to understand the progeny and process of food manufacture. With the design of the Hampshire Cheese Company’s new creamery and its location adjacent to Newlyn’s, visitors will be able to experience cheese making from factory floor to tasting room.
Jo Moody, Cheese Expert at Newlyn’s, said: “British artisan cheese is capturing the imagination of cheese lovers and restaurateurs around the world. Stacey, Charlotte and the Hampshire Cheese Company team make first class cheeses that consistently sell incredibly well and are enjoyed around the world. We cannot wait to have them onsite and are really excited by the opportunities this will bring!”
