Cornwall-based Sharp’s Brewery has today (Tuesday 8th May) announced the launch of Manu Bay, a limited-edition golden pale ale (4.4%). The beer is available now across selected on-trade outlets in the UK until 30th June 2018*.
Manu Bay is a golden ale with a crushed citrus aroma that is reminiscent of the scent of lime. The beer offers a light malt taste with moderate bitterness and fruit flavours, that pairs perfectly with a variety of summer favourites, such as white fish and seafood like calamari, and fresh salads.
The new limited release has been brewed in collaboration with New Zealand brewery Galbraith’s. Prior to joining the Sharp’s team, Head Brewer Andrew Madden spent six years in Auckland, where he was inspired by leading cask ale brewer Keith Galbraith. The beer takes its name from one of the most popular surfing breaks in New Zealand, Manu Bay, and is the second limited release to be launched by Sharp’s in 2018.
Andrew Madden, Head Brewer at Sharp’s Brewery, said: “After spending six years in Auckland, I discovered a love for New Zealand hops and I met some inspirational brewers. Manu Bay is the result of combining Sharp’s Brewery’s finest Cornish brewing techniques, with the expertise of the Galbraith’s team. We’re very excited to bring this unique golden ale to Sharp’s customers across the UK.”
Ed Hughes, Beer Sommelier at Sharp’s Brewery, said: “With the nicer weather finally here, Manu Bay is a perfectly refreshing beer to enjoy on a warm day. With crisp citrus notes and a golden appearance, this beer pairs perfectly with fish and chips.”
