Oakpark Foods expands range with new unsmoked and naturally smoked chicken rashers

Irish producer, Oakpark Foods, has added two new variants to its growing range of healthier meat products, securing a listing with Sainsbury’s for its Unsmoked and Naturally Smoked Chicken Rashers.

The new premium rashers are now available in over 100 Sainsbury’s stores nationwide. Both products follow a strong trading period for Oakpark Foods after its Naturally Smoked Turkey Breast Rashers were introduced into Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons earlier this year, and have seen over 20% increase in month-on-month sales.

The premium rashers, which are low in fat and high in protein, are made using responsibly sourced chicken breast. As demand for healthier food and drink choices continues to rise, with 72% of European shoppers reporting that they plan to make greater attempts to eat healthier foods as a result of Covid-19[1], the new products make an ideal addition to breakfast and lunch occasions.

The premium rashers are produced at Oakpark Foods’ new £3m poultry production facility in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. The packaging is 90% recyclable, a process which is structured through Ireland’s world-leading sustainability programme, Origin Green.

David Brett, Managing Director at Oakpark Foods, said: “Following the success of our Naturally Smoked Turkey Breast Rashers launch earlier this year, we’re delighted to be growing our retail offering in the UK with the Unsmoked and Naturally Smoked Chicken Rashers. We’re extremely pleased to report such positive trading figures this year and with our new state of the art poultry production facility in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, we are looking forward to further growing our lines to satisfy the clear consumer demand for food and drink products with higher nutritional value.”

Oakpark’s Unsmoked Chicken Rashers and Naturally Smoked Chicken Rashers come in 150g packs containing six rashers. Sainsburys RRP: £1.75.
