Morrisons beefs up Father’s Day with the ‘Daddy of all Burgers’

Morrisons has created the UK’s biggest supermarket burger, four times the size of the quarter-pounders usually found in shops.

Weighing in at a full pound – or 454g, the same weight as a football – the succulent ‘Daddy of all Burgers’ is an eye-watering 18cm in diameter, made from 100 per cent British beef and costs a wallet-friendly £3.

Each juicy ‘Daddy of all Burgers’ is made fresh at Morrisons Market Street Butchers counters. But that’s not all – the clever team at each in-store Bakery are creating an accompanying giant fresh bread bun for just 50p.

Morrisons wanted to provide the ultimate meat feast for dads across the country this Father’s Day. The supermarket’s butchery expert Paul Robinson said: “All of our butchers will be making these mammoth burgers by hand. We think many dads will aim to eat the whole thing, but if their eyes are bigger than their belly, they can always share with their family.”

The humble burger was recently named the UK’s favourite BBQ food*and this burger will certainly dominate a spot at the family get-together this weekend, giving food envy to anyone not lucky enough to share it.

The ‘Daddy of all Burgers’ is made with a subtle seasoning of paprika, sage and parsley; for the best results use a very hot griddle pan, frying pan or BBQ to cook evenly for four minutes on each side.
