Makers of award-winning Silent Pool Gin launch new rare citrus variety

The distillers behind the award-winning Silent Pool Gin have launched its new Rare Citrus Gin, a unique and complex spirit born from some of the world’s rarest citrus varieties.

The gin is crafted from fruits around the globe such as Hirado Buntan, Natsu Dai Dai, Buddha’s Hand and Green Seville Orange. It has been distilled using Silent Pool Gin’s unique four-tiered process to create an exceptionally high-quality, clear spirit, free of artificial flavourings and unprocessed ingredients.

Like Silent Pool Gin, Silent Pool Rare Citrus Gin has been crafted using the highest quality ingredients. The rare citruses are sourced from world renowned citrus collectors on the Alentejo coast in Portugal, who grow in excess of 300 citrus varieties. The resulting gin is zesty and vibrant. Floral citrus and exotic fruit aromas lead into sweet notes of honey and melon, with juniper marrying the flavours together. The bottle features a unique wrap, detailing the botanicals and citrus fruits in the same style as the brand’s core gin, now in a vibrant burnt orange shade.

Silent Pool Rare Citrus Gin will be sold initially via silentpooldistillers.com, retailing at the same price as its classic gin at £37 per 70cl bottle, with more stockists to follow.

Ian McCulloch, Co-Founder of Silent Pool Gin, says: “At the beginning of 2020 we predicted that citrus gins would be a trend within the premium drinks category and we’re delighted to introduce our Rare Citrus Gin to the market and to the Silent Pool family. This is not a flavoured gin; but rather a masterfully blended spirit that is both aromatic and unique in taste.”
