Keeping Manuka firmly in the family

Family Foods has undergone a complete rebrand and has launched a new website: www.familyfoodsgroup.com. Inspired by Manuka honey, which is an integral part of every product in the company’s portfolio, the firm’s new logo features a bee, while the colour-ways of the website and all marketing materials incorporate the rich golden hues of honey and a contrasting navy blue representing the fresh, deep waters of New Zealand where Manuka honey comes from.

Manuka honey is sourced from some of New Zealand’s most remote locations, it is renowned for its unique flavour and is recognised worldwide for the unique properties not found in other honey varieties. Every batch of Family Food’s MGO® Manuka Honey is tested and certified for guaranteed quality and methylglyoxal content. MGO Manuka Honey is available in jars of MGO 100+ (containing a minimum of 100mg/kg of Methylglyoxal), 300+ (containing 300mg/kg) and 600+ (containing 600mg/kg).

Manuka Honey is well-known for its health properties, including being anti-viral and a great immune system booster. During the Coronavirus pandemic, it has received much media coverage and jars have been flying off the shelves! Now is a great time to introduce Manuka Honey to your customers, it is a healthy addition to everyone’s diet and can add a healthy profit to your bottom line. The MGO range also includes three flavours of Manuka Honey Lozenges – Original, Lemon and Blackcurrant. Containing 15% Manuka Honey 300+, these delicious lozenges are perfect for sore throats, travelling or just a sweet treat!

Manuka Sport is a range of sports nutrition Energy Gels. Manuka Sport has captured the perfect balance of taste, nutrition, and energy by incorporating Manuka Honey, a natural form of carbohydrate, into its performance – endurance products. Dense with carbohydrates, specifically fast release glucose and slower release fructose, the honey provides a sustained fuelling option for professional athletes and recreational fitness fiends alike. The energy gels contain carbohydrates from four different sources: Manuka honey, maltodextrin, glucose and fructose. The carbohydrates provide fast energy from glucose and maltodextrin and both fast and slow replenishment from fructose. Manuka honey contains a variety of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Available in four flavours – honey cherry, honey citrus, honey tropical and honey berry – the gels retail in boxes of 12, either as individual flavours or in a variety pack.

As well as MGO Manuka Honey and Manuka Sport, Family Foods, also offers a private labelling service and sells a range of honeys in bulk.

Family Foods, which was established in 2012, is devoted to product development and creating fresh, new food fashions – always innovating and finding ways to improve flavour, textures, consistency, shelf-life, and profitability for customers.

Speaking from the head office, CEO Andrew Thain, commented: “It’s exciting times for Family Foods. Our Manuka Honey MGO range is growing with two new products about to launch, we have recently partnered with a European distributor for our Manuka Sports brand and we have a pipeline of new products for early 2021 release – the time feels right to rebrand and tell the world our story!”
