When The Hampton Pub in Middlesex won a Good Food Award just 18 months after opening it underlined what has been an impressive turnaround for the pub.
“When I took the business on two years ago it was called The Court Jester and was considered to be one of the worst pubs in the south of England,” explains Geo Bassani Lima, General Manager and Head Chef. “We have now not only won two Good Food Awards but we have also been placed number one in Hampton on Tripadvisor for the past 18 months.
“We aim to offer a warm welcome in a relaxing venue where customers can enjoy our restaurant’s best cuisine in a classic pub environment with family and friends. The Hampton is a contemporary pub on a beautiful square, a unique destination at the heart of our community.
“Our gastro pub food is freshly prepared on a daily basis and we only use the finest quality ingredients and the best of British produce to serve up to 100 guests in our elegant dining room. We took a risk in delivering fresh, quality food that is different to what is available in other pubs but it has paid off. We have been able to build a very strong supply chain to help us to provide the quality we’re looking for.”
The Good Food Award judges certainly agreed and over the last 12 months they evaluated customer feedback found that The Hampton Pub demonstrated: ‘exceptional levels of food quality, service and value when compared to industry benchmarks in their category’. Mr Lima is now using the awards as the springboard to continued growth and to further eradicate the pub’s previously bad reputation.
