Eat Real unveils new organic snacks range

Eat Real, the healthier snacking brand, has launched three new Organic gluten-free and Vegan snacks in response to growing consumer demand for ‘good for you’ products.

Made from all natural ingredients, the new Organic Hummus and Organic Lentil Chips, and Organic Veggie Straws (with added Beetroot and Turmeric), are suitable for Vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free diets and are certified by the Soil Association.

Available in Sea Salt flavour and packed in 100g sharing bags, they also contain significantly less fat than traditional potato crisps (Hummus 40% less, Lentil Chips and Veggie Straws 30% less), and are free from all 14 declarable allergens and artificial flavourings, colourings and preservatives.  The Organic Hummus Chips and Organic Lentil Chips also contain no added sugar.

“These snacks are ideal for consumers with specific dietary requirements but they’re also perfect for people who are making lifestyle choices and rejecting traditional snack and confectionery items in favour of ‘good for you’ products,” comments Debbie King, Director of Commercial Sales & Marketing at Eat Real. The Eat Real Organic range was launched to help satisfy the UK’s appetite for organic products – a market which is now worth £2.9bn with more than 8,000 stores across the country stocking organic products. In 2016, total sales of organic products increased by 7.1 per cent.

“Healthy food is no longer considered a luxury – it’s becoming much more accessible to consumers seeking tasty, enjoyable and guilt-free alternatives,” adds Debbie. “Healthy snacking is the biggest growth trend in the snacks category, but it’s vital that the products deliver not only on nutritional content but on taste, texture and flavour too.

“While sales of traditional crisps are falling, healthier snacking is growing at twice the rate of normal snacking because consumers are choosing products that are regarded as more wholesome – a trend that we believe is set to continue,” adds Debbie. “People are now much more interested to know where their food comes from and how it has been produced.”

The Eat Real brand was launched just three years ago and is already achieving sales of £15m a year, largely due to the phenomenal growth in demand for healthier, guilt-free snacking.  Like the existing Eat Real range of pulse and grain-based Hummus, Lentil and Quinoa Chips, Quinoa Puffs and Veggie Straws, they’re big on both flavour and texture.
