Drinks brand Nix & Kix launches new Blood Orange & Turmeric flavour

Nix & Kix has announced the launch of its new soda flavour Blood Orange & Turmeric.

Turmeric has been hitting the headlines over recent years regarding its positive health benefits due to the compound Curcumin. This ingredient has been found to feature antioxidant properties as well as being an anti-inflammatory agent. Curcumin may also be a powerful tool in the fight against obesity and its related symptoms. It reduces leptin resistance, lowers insulin resistance, reverses hyperglycemia, reduces inflammation, and activates fat burning gene signals.*

A study published in the **American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry found that Turmeric could boost people’s memories by nearly 30% and potentially ease depression due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Both dementia and severe depression have been linked to inflammation by the medical profession in the past.

Alongside Turmeric’s health benefits Blood Orange itself is cited for having antioxidant properties as well as being rich in vitamin C, a perfect combination for Nix & Kix’s no added sugar, low calorie and vegan friendly range.

After successfully launching the brand back in 2015 with their three iconic flavours Mango & Ginger, Peach & Vanilla and Cucumber & Mint, Nix & Kix have been searching for the next drink for their unique range of flavours and to compliment the cayenne that can be found in all of their drinks as a natural pick-me-up.

Nix & Kix’s range of drinks offer a natural alternative to many sugary sodas, especially at a time when more and more consumers are concerned about sugar in soft drinks. The launch is also coinciding with the sugar tax*** that has come into effect in April. All their drinks are below the sugar tax threshold and this flavour is no exception.

Nix & Kix founder, Kerstin Robinson said: “We are really excited to launch the first soft drink with turmeric in the UK. Not only does it taste amazing but we have really thought about creating a unique blend of flavours and spices to keep calories low without adding artificial sweeteners. Turmeric has been proven to offer so many different health benefits and combined with Blood Orange it offers the perfect combination for those wanting something tasty but healthy.”

Blood Orange & Turmeric will be hitting the shops this April and will be available at nixandkix.com/shop.
