The Cotswolds Distillery has announced the launch of its small-batch Wildflower Gin Collection rolling out in the UK this month. The collection’s first expression, No.1 Wildflower Gin, is a blend of cornflowers, locally grown lavender and orange, layered over the distillery’s classic London Dry gin.
Inspired by the wildflowers growing in the ‘glorious grasslands’ of the Cotswolds, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Wildflower Gin Collection has been created by marrying premium botanicals with the gin distilling and blending skills of the Cotswolds Distillery team.
Dan Szor, Founder and CEO of Cotswolds Distillery, says: “We’ve been delighted with the reception of our original Cotswolds London Dry Gin since its launch in 2014, winning over 30 industry awards and gaining listings in key on trade accounts and with high end retailers. We were inspired to create No.1 Wildflower Gin by the long, relaxing drinking occasion and this, coupled with the impressive growth in the spritz market, led us to create an exciting addition to our gin portfolio that can be enjoyed in a refreshing new way.”
Cotswolds No.1 Wildflower Gin is a full-strength gin, presented in a clear glass bottle with an eye-catching label decorated with native British wildflowers. The gin is made by distilling a London Dry base which contains juniper, coriander and angelica root in the distillery’s 500L Holstein still, Lorelei, using only the ‘hearts’, the purest part of the spirit run. The spirit is then blended with the finest essences of orange, lavender, cornflowers and rhubarb root before adding a touch of sugar and filtered water to bring the final bottling strength down to 41.7% ABV. The result is a fragrant gin bursting with natural flavour and delicate floral aromas of summer meadows.
No.1 Wildflower Gin is made with locally sourced lavender and the distillery has a firm commitment to its local agricultural community and sustainability.
RRP: £34.95 for 70cl ABV: 41.7%
