Coco Fuzion 100 aims to add some fizz into coconut water market

Coco Fuzion 100, the UK’s first all-natural carbonated coconut water, is announcing its official UK launch.

With the brand already growing very rapidly in Ireland, Scandinavia and Spain, Coco Fuzion 100 has secured listings in 2,700 UK stores, with retailers including TK Maxx and WH Smith as well as over 3,500 Leisure outlets. Coco Fuzion 100 was developed by C7 Brands, one of the UK’s leading independent drinks companies which completed a reverse takeover of Prime Active Capital PLC last year.

Coconut water is the fastest growing category in the US and UK ready-to-drink market, and global sales are to set to double from $2.7bn to $5.4bn by 2020[1]. In the UK, the coconut water market is worth $352m and is expected to grow to $464m in 2018, and $616m in 2019.

CEO of C7 Brands Stephen Barton commented on the UK launch and investment plans: “Coconut water is nature’s sports drink, and we want to make its myriad benefits available to all. Consumer demand for coconut water has boomed mainly driven by an AB1 female demographic. Our flavour profile, pack size and investment plans are geared to broaden that audience across all demographics, especially given the opportunity created by the impending sugar tax and coconut water’s unique health benefits.”

Coco Fuzion 100’s 250ml cans of carbonated coconut water are an industry-first natural alternative to fizzy drinks. Available in Mango, Lime, Raspberry and original flavour, each can contains naturally occurring, highly-hydrating electrolytes, and has no added sugar or preservatives. Produced on coconut island just north of the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, Coco Fuzion 100 is made using tender, young, organic coconuts which are picked, processed and bottled on the same day.

Also available in 330ml slim-bottles that are perfect for the leisure and fitness market, Coco Fuzion 100 is naturally isotonic meaning it is absorbed by the body more quickly than water, quenching thirst and providing energy. In fact, just one 250ml can provides the same hydration as a litre of water. Coco Fuzion 100 contains five essential electrolytes that the body loses during exercise: Potassium, Sodium, Magnesium, Calcium and Chloride, providing proper cellular hydration. This offers various health benefits, including an increase in metabolism, proper muscle contraction, improved mental focus and physical performance.

As a key element in announcing the brand’s core benefits, Coco Fuzion 100 is investing heavily in marketing, and has signed up over 20 leading athletes as brand ambassadors. These include England rugby star Chris Robshaw, boxer Chris Eubank Jr., and former British and Irish Lions coach and rugby legend Sir Ian McGeechan.

Coco Fuzion 100’s product range includes 250ml carbonated cans and 300ml still sports drinks in four great flavours: Natural, Raspberry, Lime and Mango. With an RRP of £2.99, they are available from WH Smiths, Holland and Barret, Morrisons (from October), Amazon and independent retailers.
